Fulfillment Update
about 1 year ago – Fri, Apr 07, 2023 at 02:45:42 PM

The Short

  • We’re a few weeks behind previous timelines.
  • BackerKit Surveys coming out next week!
  • We’re pushing print next week!
  • Fulfillment will begin in the first half of May.

Hello, Family!

I hope all is well with everyone! We’re ecstatic with how A Butterfly Dies and COCOXOCA is turning out! Christian has finished editing, the layout is about 95% done for both, and there are a few illustrations I’ll be remaking, adjusting, and finishing this weekend/next week. Then we’re off to the printers next week.

Here are some sneak peeks!

BackerKit Surveys and Preorder Store

Surveys will be sent next week as well! The preorder store will be open at the same time.

After sending the surveys, we’ll send reminders a few weeks later so we can try and get all of them before fulfillment begins.

Feel free to reach out with any questions at [email protected]. I’m excited to get this to you all!

Much love,

Marco

Everything is in Editing! COCOXOCA Update + Final 30 Hrs.

COCOXOCA WIP

Almost 200 Backers!! Thank you for being here! We're excited to close out nicely, and are happy to announce writing for COCOXOCA is now in Christian's hands for editing. The layout also had a glow-up we wanted to show before the end of the campaign.

It feels great to have the project nearly finished by the end of the campaign! There are a number of illustrations left I want to take my time on, and COCOXOCA and A Butterfly Dies will both get more love in layout land, but we'll be printing in March no doubt.

Much love, Family! Thank you again for the support! We're excited to bring this one into the world <3

COCOXOCA goes to Editing today!
about 1 year ago – Mon, Feb 20, 2023 at 11:07:32 AM

We're excited to share that Christian Sorrell laid down the editing hammer on A Butterfly Dies manuscript. It's almost completely ready for layout to continue! COCOXOCA is wrapping up writing today and will be sent to Christian to glisten up before finalizing layout for the pamphlet!

WIP Encounter Layout with WIP Illustration

We've been quite a bit more heads down this campaign than usual - which has its pros and cons. A few things have kept me from being more active with updates, and I regret not being able to accomplish more on the communication front. Luckily, there hasn't been further tradeoff with the project's progress, and A Butterfly Dies and COCOXOCA are moving forward and ahead of schedule.

Closing in on the final 72 Hours and we get to share A Butterfly Dies with 171 people so far!! Hell yes!!

Here's the equivalent of a sketch for the layout of COCOXOCA. For projects sensitive to paper space I find it easier to go back and forth from layout to google docs for writing. Then of course keep it in the doc and send to editing before finalizing. Planning components in a tri-fold has always been tough for me.

Manuscript Finished + Sent Editing!
about 1 year ago – Mon, Feb 06, 2023 at 09:56:40 AM

I’m very grateful to be so far ahead with the project before launching. I’m excited to be done with the writing so I can focus more on some visuals to share as the campaign continues. We're on target to print by late Feb, early March as intended <3

Also, a huge thank you to everyone who's backed so far!! It's always incredible knowing we get to share our zine and its stories with a ton of people (almost 100) !!! Much Love!

A Small Encounter Sneak Peak: I love the way Diogo mapped out Random Encounter rolls in Primal Quest. When a Random Encounter occurs, you roll a new d6.

  • 1-3 Variations of a common encounter
  • 4-5 Unusual and uncommon encounter
  • 6 Weird and Dangerous encounter

For the general hex crawl random encounters our 6 rolls mostly stick to the weird - Temporal Butterflies, Death Butterflies, and Gust Butterflies. Each with its own special abilities that inform players of their surroundings, give them more knowledge of their past/lineage, or present an unexpected danger.

+ A Few ZiMo and ZineQuest projects I'm Excited About

The Bloom for Liminal Horror

by Goblin Archives and Josh Domanski. This might just be the one I'm most excited for even though I haven't gone through my copy of Liminal Horror yet. Awesome sandbox for the setting with a ton of careful thought and time put into it.

Also - learned most of what I know about it from Dieku Game's YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_KmiiJPZeI&embeds_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fdiekugames.com%2F&feature=emb_imp_woyt&ab_channel=DiekuGames

I mean, look at this Postcard from The Bloom

Bio-Drones & Cryo-Clones

By ChrisAir Games. Chris is phenomenal and has been creating a ton of great and interconnected modules for Mothership this year. I'm a big fan and we've been in contact a lot as designers/publishers. This is also a catch up campaign where you can tack on several smaller modules Chris has published this year.
